Welcome to My Blog!

Keeping you in the loop!

Happy Monday Everyone!! Hope you had an amazing weekend. I'm so sorry I have been so disconnected from my blog, lots has been happening around here!! We moved two weeks ago and as you all know, moving is never easy. A few weeks before moving, I was going thru my whole house getting rid of all the things we don't need and seemed to have spent the longest time packing the garage! It feels like it takes forever to thoroughly go thru all of these items and decide to give them away, throw them in the garbage, sell them in the garage sale or keep them, We made three trips to the dumpster and several trips to the donation bins... But I have to say, there is nothing more liberating than getting rid of things you don't need and things that take space and energy in your home.

While packing and moving, I also had to work several staging and interior decorating projects, not to mention the kids of course are off school and that definitely adds a different dynamic around the house!
I was really trying to get back to my laptop and write a blog but I simply had no time or inspiration to write during that time. I honestly don't know how the amazing bloggers I follow are so disciplined with their writing schedule. I must say, blogging takes time and creativity... It's a full time job for sure!! I send kudos to all of them, because even when they are away on vacation they seem to find the time to write a little something for their followers and I gather that is the reason they do so well blogging. For example, Landyn from Living with Landyn, Cassie from Hi Sugarplum and Erin Sousa from Sparkle Media to mention three of my favourite girls out there!! I really look up to them and I hope one day I can get to blog and bring you helpful and interesting information as much as they do.

So, what is happening with Lili in the next month?

Well... My family and I are traveling to Guanajuato, Mexico; one of my young sisters is getting married and I have been helping her over the last year to plan everything for the big day. My plan is to arrive 5 days before the wedding to get all the last minute touches together and be there on the special day, I'm really looking forward to this!!
After that we will be heading to Guadalajara, a 2 hr. drive from Guanajuato to visit the rest of my family for another 5 days. Finally, we will all head to Puerto Vallarta to finish our trip with a relaxing time by the beach and get ready to come back to Vancouver, completely relaxed and replenished of good energy to get back to work and continue creating amazing living spaces, which is my passion!!
Any way!! That is it for now, just wanted to keep you in the loop on what has been going on and will be going on in the next little while... What are your plans this summer? Would love to hear from you!

Thank you for reading :)    XO!!

These past two weeks have been crazy busy for me, it is like people just woke up and decided to redecorate or put their house up for sale, but how can you not? With this crazy real-estate market it is insane out there.... From houses going on bid wars to selling at crazy over asking prices, it is nuts!!

That is great for me though... It is keeping me busy and the best part is I get to do what I love most: Decorating and Staging homes! :) I am very excited to show you what I have been up to in the last two weeks, there are new pictures coming up on my website soon from a big project I did in White Rock so stay tuned!!

Meanwhile check out this interesting article on real estate and how staging benefits you!

A well-staged, sparkling house can garner lots of attention, and potentially sell very quickly. This is true regardless of whether the market is cold or hot. In a cold market, buyers don't have to settle for anything less than the best. Why should they spend time and money fixing up a distressed home when a staged house looks great and is move-in ready? In a hot market, buyers can go into feeding-frenzy mode, focusing on the hot property of the week and ignoring the others. You want your property to be the hot one, with buyers going crazy in their efforts to outbid each other.

So your ready to put your home on the market, you know all about the advantages of staging your home to sell, so you think: how hard could it be? There are a million reasons why a professional’s hand can make life easier, but we've narrowed down just a few of the top reasons how staging benefits you.

Time and Effort

Of course you are wondering why can't I just stage my my own house? But like any of the tasks involved in selling your home, you need to ask yourself whether doing it yourself is worth your time and effort. Even if your house is already in pretty good shape, you'll inevitably find yourself working on basic things like choosing new paint colors, hiring workers, and shopping for the perfect table runner and fresh new doormat. The hours you'll spend on these tasks add up quickly -- while hiring a stager means that most of it will happen like magic, while you turn your attention to the numerous other things on your plate.

Perspective

It’s a fact: you have too much of a personal attachment to your own stuff. A stager will have an objective eye going from room to room. The reality of decorating to live is very different from staging to sell, and we pride ourselves on knowing the difference

Critical Eye

We bring continuity to your home, both visually and spatially. This way a potential buyer can truly see the home as a whole and not just rooms stuck next to each other.

Experience

With many years and projects under our belts, we have the experience to know what will appeal to the broadest range of buyers. Professional stagers are trained in very specific design principles that are used to show your property in its’ best light. We consider traffic flow for showings, how the property will photograph, and the overall flow from room to room.

Resources

Professional stagers have resources available such as rental furniture to fill in gaps or flesh out a space, and relationships with contractors and suppliers for any necessary work that needs to be done quickly.

Stay tuned for new pictures of what I've been up too!

The New Spring and Summer 2016 Interior Trends

Picture

While everyone else was putting up their decorations and baking mince pies, I was researching 2016 interiors trends. While humming along to Christmas carols and lighting my advent candle, I was flicking through pastel colour swatches and picking out brightly patterned cushions.
In fact, packing the festive decorations away at this time of year almost gives you a blank canvas to work with for your Spring decorating. I often look around a room after the Christmas tree has gone and think to myself; ‘this space is so big now’. So with all that perceived ‘extra space’, why not make some changes to your room and inject a little colours and happiness into your home? Here’s why I think candy colours will be de rigueur this Spring/Summer:
Picture
While doing my research, I studied the Pantone colour intelligence predictions for Spring/Summer 2016. Although these bright juicy colours were intended for fashion forecasting, I was sure that they would translate well into a fresh spring-time interior scheme too.

These are the top ten colours of the year and, according to Leatrice Eiseman, the Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, they will “transport us to a happier, sunnier place where we feel free to express a wittier version of our real selves.” So not only will we see fruity hues and aquatic tones in our clothes, we’ll also be bringing a brighter and bolder palette into our homes too.

Sounds fun, doesn’t it?
