MIRROR, MIRROR ON THE WALL...

Who is the greatest of them all? When it comes to mirrors... Well, they come in all shapes and sizes!
As a decorator I like to use mirrors in a home for different purposes.

A mirror can bring light into a room, open up narrow hallways, it can also give the impression a place is bigger than it is. Ultimately, it can make a statement as a decorating piece adding glam to any home!
It really depends on what you are looking to do with a room in order to choose the right shape, size and design of a mirror.
I personally love mirrors in the dining room area, I think it makes a statement and gives any space a glamorous finish like in the picture below, I got this mirror from Home Sense for the fabulous price of $199.00. (It is hard to see the size in this picture but it is pretty big.)

Another great way to display a mirror is, above a console table like in the picture below designed by
AGK Design Studio. You can find a mirror similar to this one from Restoration Hardware or worldmarket.com

Endless options when it comes to mirrors! Finally, one of the looks that I absolutely adore is the floor mirror with a console table in front of it. I am actually on the hunt for the perfect table to go in front of my white floor mirror at home, once I find it, I will be sure the share a photo with you!!
To create this look you can find a similar mirror from Pottery Barn and the console table from
One Kings Lane.

Where to get decor ideas?

After a conversation with one of my clients about where to get decor inspiration, it got me thinking that everyone has their own way to get inspired when it comes to decor.

A lot of people look at magazines like Elle decor, House & Home, InStyle, Veranda, Luxe, just to name a few! Some, look at design books and nowadays with all the internet platforms we can browse online for inspiration... like Instagram for example is a huge go for me when it comes to decor as well as houzz.com; with millions of pictures to look at, from kitchens to master bedrooms and everything in between is a great place to start when you are looking for that special something... oh! and what to say about Pinterest? Being one of the biggest inspiration websites out there and so easy to navigate thru and create your pins... Wow! there is definitely lots of tools out there when it comes to decor and design. But... there is one that I specially think is a great place to get some of my favourite design trends and that is MLS listings, yes... when it comes to high-end homes, MLS all over the world is the best way to get amazing ideas. I have seen some mind-blowing decorated homes out there, I specially like the high end areas around LA and New York.
So there you have it! If you are looking for places to get inspired... the list is endless!!

                                                                Happy browsing everyone,

Hello, Lili here, Happy New Year 2017 everyone!

Always at the beginning of each year, people make new year resolutions, commitments, promises… it’s a time when it feels good to make a big change in our lives, to clean and organize our home or office space, declutter and get rid of all the things that are just taking space in our home. All of these tasks take so much time but oh man do they feel liberating once you are all done! Definitely is a good idea to tackle one room at a time in order to not get overwhelmed and leave the project unfinished so this is why I thought I will share with you a link to a great article from a bowl full of lemons, Toni the author of this blog has created a 2017 home organization challenge, it is amazing! it is full of tips on how to organize your home week by week. Make sure to check out her website for other tips on cleaning and even budgets!

Week #1 Checklist:

Picture
  1. Clean out and organize all cabinets.
  2. Clean out and organize all drawers.
  3. Purge everything that is not used, expired, doesn't belong, collecting dust.
  4. Clean out & organize the refrigerator & freezer.
  5. Mop, wipe down cabinet doors, clean counter tops & tables.
  6. Take everything off the refrigerator door.  It makes the kitchen look messy.
  7. Clean all appliances.

The Process:

  1. Clear off the kitchen table. This is your dumping grounds.
  2. Empty out all cabinets & drawers!  Place ALL items into “categories” on the table.
  3. Wipe down the cabinet doors, shelves and drawers. Add new liners if necessary.
  4. Discard (trash) old, expired, and no longer used items & food. Check the dates.
  5. Place all items that are able to fit, into baskets.
  6. Place everything back into the cabinets & drawers (in categories).
  7. Take everything off the kitchen counters and place onto the table.
  8. Wipe down the counters & backsplash with a good natural cleaner.
  9. Wipe down ALL small appliances & large ones too!
  10. Put back items you use on a daily basis, onto the counter top.
